Scheme ‘F’ was an interesting alternative, a radical departure from the past battleship concepts and it stemmed from the 1933 battleship escorts. It showed massive aviation features with 3 turnable catapults on the bow and below them a hangar for 10 bombers (wings folded) with an aircraft elevator moving them between decks. Main battery was held pretty strong though grouped aft in two quad turrets, with very good overall firing arcs. The idea was that the bombers compensated for the lack of guns forward. There is no mention of the exact a/c type or how the recovery worked in such a forward position. As it was this was a base idea only for further development which was ultimately not pursued (probably fortunately).
